Cacao drinking ceremony… I say yes!

Firstly: ceremonial cacao is not the same as hot chocolate we are accustomed to drinking. Secondly, – it opens our hearts so we can feel connected to our true self and others on a much deeper level. It was used by Aztec and Mayan cultures, natives of Central America. known as ceremonial medicine, which helps to let go of negativity and feel pure heart energy and love. Raw Cacao itself has a lot of great properties such as high in magnesium and zinc. I believe it’s time to familiarise ourselves with it’s magic and potential.
I had my first cacao drinking ceremony recently and it was a very special occasion which took place on a full moon in a circle of women. It can’t get better than that. We each were instructed to set intentions for the night. I chose to feel unconditional love. I was peaceful, in tune, with clarity of my feelings and emotions, I felt grateful and wanted to share the love with others, which happen while we were sitting in circles exchanging positive energy. The music was shamanic and took us into a deep meditation and another dimension. So in my own words, it’s a gentle healing journey to connect with your divine self.
Women who led the ceremony, Elena Angel Shakti, is a beautiful soul supporting other women with her ‘Ultimate connection work’ and circles that she holds, including Cacao drinking ceremony. I did ask Elena to tell more about cacao ceremonies for women.

‘Cacao has long been considered a teacher plant with a great capacity for opening the heart. I find it particularly powerful to work with this in women’s only ceremonies: when Women gather together in sacred space and release the need for competition and comparison, a magnificent synergy arises. All begin to resonate in a natural harmony, connecting from the heart. As they do so, there is beautiful healing, opening and transformation, both individually and collectively. Taken with awareness and conscious intention in such a setting, cacao greatly enhances the process.
The cacao used is specially sourced and prepared for ceremonial purposes and the effects depend largely on the consciousness and the intentions of the facilitator and the group. In my Women’s Cacao ceremonies, I hold a very intuitive space, offering gentle guidance and following the movements of subtle energy. There is sharing, music, meditation, various types of exchange and we may experience:
- a graceful, effortless way to access deep emotion and heal wounds
- a stronger connection with our own inner wisdom, creativity, higher senses and intuition
- increased empathic skills and energetic awareness
- enhanced communication, heart connection and sensate awareness
- heightened ability to envision and to manifest
- profound feelings of Love, Peace, Oneness and the presence of Grace.
I’m very passionate about this work and helping to return to a more humane and loving way of being with each other and in the world. It’s one way to support the collective emergence of the Sacred Feminine — which is what’s needed at this time of planetary crisis. ‘
