Women and their inner wild woman
Project ‘Women and their inner wild woman,’ started in 2013 and it is an ongoing social project. The work aims to capture the beauty, strength and power of the inner wild woman through collaboration with women from different countries, age groups and backgrounds.
Despite the vast differences between them, these women all have an awareness of their power, of the importance of listening to their inner selves and cultivating a connection with nature. They have all found a way to connect with and express their wild woman, which has brought them to the current moment they are experiencing in their lives.
It doesn’t mean I photograph women only when they are connected with themselves and are blossoming, sometimes is quite the opposite, it takes a few therapeutic photo shoots to help women connect, open, listen and be themselves again: awake that inner wild woman.
I do ask women before any photographs made, two questions, I basically give them some homework to do:
- Where do you go to charge yourself? Any place; indoors, outdoors in a city or village you are living?
- What activity makes you happy, most relaxed, leaving you with the feel of doing something for yourself?
It might take those women to their childhood to remember, what really gave joy to them: climbing up the trees, reading a book or maybe just looking at the sky and birds.
From there we choose the location, and we go to enjoy and experiment together. Later we look and choose photos together. What we need are images where women look at themselves and are able to say ‘I am amazing, I am a beautiful women, I am happy, I am the goddess’ I am everything I thought I am not. So if you are little camera shy, don’t worry we take it easy and just give yourself this gift.
It is donation based project.
